As a Systems Engineering Manager in Leading Technology Company s Sales function, you are responsible for directing all aspects of the Systems Engineering organization for your assigned region including pre-sales support for selling Leading Technology Company s products or services to existing and future clients. You develop long-term strategies and shorter term plans to meet aggressive performance goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships. You need to be able to balance the team leadership with the requirement to be the technical face of Leading Technology Company in the Singapore market. You need to be able to lead from the front and have relationships with key customer executives, partners and industry analysts.
The overall responsibilities of the Systems Engineering Manager are to provide management oversight to Systems Engineers and for growth and development of the function including selecting, hiring and developing results-oriented professional employees.
You also need to be a technology evangelist. This role requires you to have experience leading a team of technical sales people as well as the business and technical acumen to help Leading Technology Company take our new solution portfolio to market. Specific areas of responsibility include:
Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Sales Management team on a quarterly and annual basis to create a local sales and marketing plan to drive revenue.
Understanding the technology trends shaping the market today.
Being comfortable talking about how technology can benefit a business in a 1:1 or a 1:may forum and be confident in briefing partners, industry analysts and media on technology innovation.
Working with the marketing and public relations to drive the Leading Technology Company brand in the Region,
Communicate sales and marketing strategies and plans to employees within your Region.
Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution.
Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed budget for Senior Management review.
Review management plans with other District Managers on a regular basis.
Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions.
Must have an aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
Ability to convey information clearly and analysis as needed to help customer make buying decisions.
Management and Interaction:
This individual uses their management and technical skills to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles, and to achieve sales and services goals in creative and effective ways.
This individual manages the coordination of activities for a specific geographic region or territory, with full responsibility for oversight in terms of costs, methods and staffing.
May act as an advisor or subject matter expert with the Region and take on expanded responsibilities within APAC as required.
Provides input on design of the incentive plans.
This level of manager successfully manages subordinate level supervisors.
This individual must effectively work with, and influence senior internal personnel within the function, peers in other functions, and has direct customer contact.
Has the ability to gain cooperation of others through leadership, mentoring, management and interpersonal skills.
Receives Senior Management review of objectives to determine success.
Education & Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and 1 to 5 years as a people manager preferred.
Hands-on experience with cloud solutions in an enterprise and commercial environment is highly desired.
Proven ability to penetrate into new accounts and grow existing accounts through close partnership with other sales-driven businesses.
A Bachelor of Arts of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or related field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred.
Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell Leading Technology Company products and services is required.
Specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth.
